Hey World, I'm Trina!

Hello! I’m Trina Xavier, an M.S. candidate in Data Science at UMass Dartmouth with a B.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering. Passionate about machine learning and generative AI, I apply computer-vision pipelines at SMAST to monitor scallop populations and assess ecosystem health. At Aloft Systems, I implement sensor-fusion ML models that optimize robotic wind sails—cutting carbon emissions and boosting maritime efficiency. I build transparent, reliable AI systems that tackle sustainability challenges and deliver real-world impact. Outside the lab, I tutor students in Python and SQL, practice yoga to stay centered, and volunteer at a YMCA farm to combat food insecurity. By combining cutting-edge AI with community engagement, I strive to create a more sustainable, equitable future

Beyond academics, I’m deeply committed to community engagement, volunteering to drive meaningful impact. I also find balance through yoga, weightlifting, and reading.
